Let the three C's be your guide to a successful collection. The quality of the samples collected could impact potential usability.
Delay Cord Clamping & Banking
Parents often ask if they can bank and do delay cord clamping. The short answer is - yes! But we let parents know it's ultimately a personal decision that should be discussed with their healthcare provider.
Below are points to consider for your discussion as well as some resources on the topic:
- Collection can be done with delayed cord clamping
- Timing of when to clamp is the parent and healthcare provider's decision
- We alert parents if collected sample size does not meet our recommended minimum to store
- Parents can choose to continue to store the stem cells or cancel
- Cord tissue collection is not impacted by delayed clamping
