To address any privacy concerns that you may have, we want you to know the type of information that is collected by Generation™ from PerkinElmer and how we use collected information.

Your Consent to This Privacy Policy
Please read our Privacy Policy carefully for a description of how we treat your personal information, as well as the steps we take to protect your privacy. By using this web site or our mobile applications, you signify that you consent to our use of information collected on this web site and/or mobile applications in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any term in this Privacy Policy, please do not provide any personal information on this site or our applications. However if you choose not to provide personal information, you may not be able to take advantage of all the features on this site or your mobile device, such as requesting additional information, e-mailing us, or enrolling online.

The Information We Collect
When you visit our site or applications, you will have the opportunity to provide personal information to enable you to take advantage of the many features and services that we offer, such as requesting additional information or enrolling online.

We collect information in the following ways:
Information you give us about yourself.  This data may include information that could reasonably be used to identify you personally, such as your name, street address, telephone number, credit card information, screen name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information. Please be assured that unless you volunteer to submit this information yourself, we will not collect any information from your visits to our site by which you could be identified personally. Lastly, Generation™ from PerkinElmer may send you service-related emails. Note that you may not opt out of service-related emails.  Additional information about the treatment of personal information you give us about yourself is included in the Generation™ Terms & Conditions available at www.viacord.com/generation-terms-conditions.

Information you give us about others.  We may also collect personal information from you about a third party. For instance, if you refer a friend to Generation™ from PerkinElmer or purchase Generation™ from PerkinElmer 's service as a gift for someone else, we will ask for contact information for this person. Please note that we will use such information about a third party only for the purpose for which it was provided (e.g., follow-up with the referred person).

Information we get from your use of our website or mobile applications.  In addition to information that you submit voluntarily, we also collect some information automatically to help us monitor use and measure performance. For example, during your visit, we may automatically collect and temporarily store information about your device type, browser type, operating system, IP address, the domain and host from which you access the Internet, the date and time you arrived at our site, how long you spent on the site, and the pages that you visited. This information helps us improve and customize our web site and mobile applications in favor of our customers. We may use standard Internet technology, such as cookies, web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our site or applications. We also may include web beacons in advertisements or email messages to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, content, programming or other activities. Please be assured that this information will be used and analyzed only in the aggregate and will not be used to identify any individual visitor unless you voluntarily submit personal information during your visit.

Cookies.
A cookie is a small piece of information that tells a website you have visited there before.  Generation™ from PerkinElmer sends a small piece of information (the cookie) to your web browser.  With your permission, the cookie is stored on your computer’s hard drive, taking up less than 100 bytes of disk space.  The cookie acts like an identity card every time you visit the Generation™ from PerkinElmer web site.  Generation™ from PerkinElmer cannot read cookies set by other sites.   Cookies also allow Generation™ from PerkinElmer to customize the pages you visit based on previous pages that you’ve visited.  Cookies help us help you.  We learn what is important to our visitors.  This allows us to focus our efforts on the information you need.

Cookies Disabled.
Much of Generation™ from PerkinElmer can be accessed with cookies disabled.  However, your visit will be significantly enhanced if cookies are enabled.  As time goes on, more and more pages on our site will have the capability to be personalized, which will depend on the existence of a Generation™ from PerkinElmer cookie.  You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it.  Please see the “Help” menu for your browser.  If you want to learn more about cookies, Cookie Central is an excellent resource.

Web Beacons.
Web beacons (also known as clear gifs, pixel tags or web bugs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users or to access cookies. Unlike cookies which are stored on the user's device, web beacons are embedded invisibly on the web pages (or in email) and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Web beacons may be used to deliver or communicate with cookies, to count users who have visited certain pages and to understand usage patterns. We also may receive an anonymous identification number if you come to our site from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website. Third parties may use anonymous information about your visits to our site and other websites in order to improve its products and services and provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

Log File Information.
Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you make a request to access (i.e., visit) a web page. It can also be provided when the content of the website is downloaded to your browser or device. When you use the Generation™ from PerkinElmer website, Generation™ from PerkinElmer’s servers automatically record certain log file information, including your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, referring/exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on Generation™ from PerkinElmer’s website, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.

Device Identifiers.
When you use a mobile device like a tablet or phone to access Generation™ from PerkinElmer’s website, we may access, collect, monitor, store on your device, and/or remotely store one or more “device identifiers.” Device identifiers are small data files or similar data structures stored on or associated with your mobile device, which uniquely identify your mobile device. A device identifier may be data stored in connection with the device hardware, data stored in connection with the device’s operating system or other software, or data sent to the device by Generation™ from PerkinElmer. A device identifier may deliver information to Generation or to a third party partner about how you browse and use the website. Some features of the website may not function properly if use or availability of device identifiers is impaired or disabled.

Metadata. Metadata is usually technical data that is associated with User Content. For example, Metadata can describe how, when and by whom a piece of User Content was collected and how that content is formatted.
