Our cord tissue stem cells are TREATMENT-READY
At ViaCord we don’t just freeze the cord tissue itself. We extract the stem cells first - just like we do with cord blood - and then cryopreserve them. Upon arrival at the ViaCord processing laboratory, the surrounding umbilical cord tissue is immediately processed using a scientifically proven method of extraction.6 Once extracted, the stem cells are cryopreserved making them ready for use.
Because ViaCord has a proven method of extraction, we can characterize and report cell count, including contamination status. 6 Should treatments using cord tissue stem cells become available, this information will be required by a transplant physician. Having your cord tissue stem cells treatment ready means less delay in a transplant situation - less delay when timeliness matters.
