Fight Breast Cancer Before You Have It

"Early detection is key." How many times have you heard this about breast cancer? Well, now you can fight breast cancer before you even have it. The new HALO® Breast Pap Test can identify precancerous changes years sooner than a lump might develop, giving you the best chance at preventing breast cancer.

HALO is recommended annually for all non-lactating women 25 and older, so finally there's something proactive you can do to monitor your breast health, even if you're too young for a mammogram.

HALO collects Nipple Aspirate Fluid (NAF) in a simple, 5-minute procedure using warmth, massage and suction similar to a breast pump. The NAF sample is sent to a lab, where they look for abnormal cells in the fluid. If abnormal cells are found, this allows you and your doctor to initiate preventive measures and more frequent monitoring.

Many women think they're safe from breast cancer if it doesn't run in their family. But the truth is that 8 out of 9 women who get breast cancer don't have a direct relative with the disease.

HALO is not a replacement for mammograms. It is important that women continue routine mammograms and breast exams as recommended by their doctors. HALO alone cannot rule out the possibility that breast cancer is present.
