The ViaCord Collection Process

Once the big day arrives, call ViaCord on your way to the hospital so we can begin to make arrangements for your cord blood to be picked-up from the hospital after you deliver.

After your baby is born your obstetrician or midwife will insert a needle into the umbilical vein allowing a flow of cord blood to fill our HEPARIN FREE, FDA-approved collection bag.

ViaCord uses the only HEPARIN FREE, FDA-approved cord blood collection bag. Our bag took over two years to create and is specifically designed to maximize collection volume and minimize contamination. Ultimately, this promotes a high quality of collected stem cells for our customers.

Feel free to call our 24/7 customer support line at 1-866-668-4895 with any questions on the enrollment forms or at any point during the collection process. Our on-call staff is also always available to your obstetrician or midwife during delivery.
