After the cord blood has been collected, call ViaCord again to review the packaging and labeling of the contents of your kit. We’ll then arrange for a private medical courier to pick up the kit from your hospital room and bring it to the airport to transport it to ViaCord's Processing Laboratory.
ViaCord's medical courier is a premium transportation service provider for industries that require immediate turn-time and specialized handling: organs for transplant, international financial institutions, blood products, and security sensitive material. The medical courier service utilizes the optimal transportation method, including its own jet fleet, ground transportation and commercial and other private aircraft to get your newborn's stem cells to our processing laboratory as quickly and safely as possible.
The faster your baby's cord blood gets to our lab, the higher the yield of usable stem cells we're able to process. This is why we use only private couriers who specialize in handling biopharmaceutical materials — we wouldn't risk your baby's cord blood, or our reputation, with anything else. We’ll transport your baby’s cord blood to the ViaCord Processing Laboratory any day of the week, weekend, or holiday.
You’ll be notified by phone, email, and text message once your collection kit arrives at our processing laboratory.
